Yesterday was a tough day. The winds blew from the east at 25 (weather channel) and gusted constantly. Have never known such gusty winds coming head on, stopping from 1:00 o’clock, then 2:00 o’clock gone, then back. Often I would be swept sideways and swayed well off the road onto the shoulder. On downhills where I should have been able to rest – had to pedal to keep going. The landscape is vast.
Here at Comstock, pop of 483, with one hotel and one bar. Their annual catfish fry was going on as a community fund raising. They even had prizes for biggest catfish caught. We joined in. Beers 1 dollar. What a hoot!! Texas trucks and cowboy hats.
