Day 28 - Rest Day Pensacola
After 27 days including two days rest we reach Florida and a days rest! Catherine is off running as she has the Kentucky Marathon coming up and I am lying in bed resting my butt and limbs. Did a 112 miles yesterday. We have shaved some miles off the route by excluding ourselves to busier highways rather than some ridiculous meandering through state parks and poorly maintained but quieter back roads. We have seen great scenery - now it's about getting to St. Augustine.

Day 21 - Austin to Brenham, TX
We were joined by two riders today, Cindy and John for the 115 miles from Austin to Brenham, TX in rain and thunder.
Day 21
It's difficult to speak of our achievement today in battling heavy rain, thunder, traffic and rough roads when a key Foundation member, and we are riding for the Foundation, namely Charles Magistro passed away today. Charles will be eulogized by many but he is for me an inspiration to selfless service in support of providing the evidence for physical therapy both in supporting the development of researchers and in funding its projects. He had given generously in time and fund

Day 19 – Kerrville, TX to Austin, TX
Four new riders joined us today for the 103 miles to Austin. We arrived in Austin after a long 103 mile day. I had a fall when hitting a slick patch and my bike went out from under me. Elbow and hips bruising. We are now well over half way on the 20th day and due to arrive May 3rd in St. Augustine. Till now we have averaged 91 miles a day but going forward we must average 107 miles. But then again the topography is for less hill and no mountain passes.

Days 16 and 17
Yesterday was a tough day. The winds blew from the east at 25 (weather channel) and gusted constantly. Have never known such gusty winds coming head on, stopping from 1:00 o’clock, then 2:00 o’clock gone, then back. Often I would be swept sideways and swayed well off the road onto the shoulder. On downhills where I should have been able to rest – had to pedal to keep going. The landscape is vast.

Day 18 - Camp Wood to Kerrville, TX
Tomorrow Austin, TX and the 2nd rest day. Yesterday I cycled 121 miles to Camp Wood and made up for wind delays. Today I awoke to thunder and downpour again. Weird weather system for this time of the year. Completed 85 today against head winds, rain at times and rough road surfaces to Kerrville, TX. Seeing antelope, vultures feasting on pig carcass and sheep.
There is mostly no cell service so we have difficulty in staying in touch between riders and SAG (support and gear
