Through the Doldrums, over the Equator and into the Southern Hemisphere
After a very slow passage from Bermuda I am finally across the Equator. It occurred quite fortuitously at the start of the compulsory cocktail hour. It has taken me 23 days since Bermuda, whereas on two previous attempts I was here by the 19th and 20th day. Worst Sailing Ever
After some 100,000 miles of sailing including once around the globe with "family, friends and strangers," two solos as far as South Africa and several Atlantic and Pacific crossings never have I experienced such a period of poor winds and miserable daily totals. All is mostly well. Some electronic challenges but I have already circumnavigated with family and friends and none of this exotic stuff was on board then. Chee
