Through the Doldrums, over the Equator and into the Southern Hemisphere

After a very slow passage from Bermuda I am finally across the Equator. It occurred quite fortuitously at the start of the compulsory cocktail hour. It has taken me 23 days since Bermuda, whereas on two previous attempts I was here by the 19th and 20th day. Hopefully now my luck will change and I shall have some fair weather as I push south into the Southern Ocean and then hang a left to go east again.

This is the end of the second leg. I have designated the third leg to be on a longitude south of Cape Town. The fourth is Tasmania, the halfway mark.

Its hot down here at the navigation station typing this blog and not much cooler in the cockpit where I spend most or my time including eating, reading and sleeping.

Cheers

Stanley
